Make a Mosaic

Reading time: 3 - 5 minutes

Bismillahir Rahmaanir Raheem

This is a mosaic of a lily. Beautiful right? Traditionally, mosaics are made of stained glass, with a mix of coloured stone, glass or other materials. You can make mosaics out of anything and everything these days, even pictures. So, how about you make a Muslim mosaic, maybe a reflection of the past year, Ramadhaan to Ramadhaan.

You could use this:

And this:

And this:

No? Ok. How about this instead:

Or maybe this:

The picture’s not so pretty anymore huh? Why is it that when you wanna make a mosaic of Muslims, this is all you’ll find; death, destruction, destitution?

Ramadhaan to Ramadhaan nothing’s really changed for you. Not that much. But then again, Ramadhaan to Ramadhaan, nothing’s really changed for them. Oh, maybe the fact that they’re homeless, orphaned, missing a limb, missing a family. Nothing’s really changed. Not that much.

We ask Allah from the depths of our soul to rain a fierce torment on those evildoers who mutilate, butcher and torture our brothers and sisters. Ameen. We ask Allah to wake us from this deep slumber. Ameen.  We can blame them, but really we need to check ourselves. You know, during the most recent massacre of the Palestinians, I had the honour of attending a lecture delivered by Sheikh Zahir Mahmood [rahimahullah], and he said, [words to the effect], “Don’t you think, that if the Ummah of Muhammad [saw] dropped everything else, and each of them just established the salaah, don’t you think Allah would hear their cries? That Allah would respond to their du’aa’s?” We have sold our aakhirah for this dunya, what’s precious for what’s paltry, what’s everlasting for what’s ephemeral. And today we see the consequences. We ask Allah [swt] to guide us and never forsake us, to envelope us in His limitless mercy and to save us from drowning in this ignorance. Ameen ya Rabbil ‘alameen. Ameen ya Rabbil ‘alameen.

Raise your hands for them this Ramadhaan. When you’re busy in the depths of the blessed night, invoking; invoking for your own soul, invoking for all those things you desire, you want, you need. Invoke for them. There are things they desire, want, need. A meal, a bed, a family. Something. Anything.

And we ask Allah [swt] to grant us truth on our tongues, sincerity in our hearts, and Paradise by His Mercy. Indeed Allah is witness over us, and Allah knows best.

In the care of Allah [swt],
Wassalaamu’alaikum wa rahmatullah

    Masha’Allah!!!

  2. It really is amazing isn’t it, these pictures will tear the muslims heart into shreds, yet just a FEW words from Allah is enough to soothe the heart because it really is true “inna nasrullahi qareeb” : indeed the victory of allah is near/close.
