it’s time 2 partaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaay ! ehem.
What’s the Freshers’ Fayre?
Freshers is the most hectic, exciting and adrenaline filled season in the academic year!
Our Freshers Fayre is a 1 day event, your best opportunity to learn more about your Students’ Union and the exciting activities and events that you can enagage in through your time here at City University London Students’ Union, watch demonstrations and leave with tons of great freebies. It’s the one day during Freshers which should not be missed by anyone.
[City University Student Union - The culsu website is also where you MUST register to be an official, recognized member of the ISoc!!! Please register; don't be lazy!]
What do I get out of it?
You get to meet the brothers in the deeeen and they get to meet you.
You find out about what’s to come throughout the year… events… gatherings… parties… munchies… awareness weeks… charity weeks… trips… football tournaments etc. etc. and how you can contribute and take part - that’s the important part!
And it’s all HALAAAL.
Also you get goodie bags and stuff filled with… goodies… real good goodies.
You find out how to enter a free prize draw and win a digital Qur’aan player ! ! !

Maybe we will trynna arrange some sort of an ’Islaamic Tour’ of City Uni inshaa’Allaah… hmmm that’s a good idea… off to find tourguides…
Wait… forgot to mention… you also get to register for an ISoc card with loads of discounts !!
I am not a Muslim… can I come over?
Caaaan youuuuuu? If you don’t come over, we will drag you there… joking, don’t panic. Inshaa’Allaah (if God wills) we will have lots of goodies and info just for you [and a big welcoming smile]!
So don’t hesitate to come coz we will be waiting!

The ‘Green’ Year
In the years that have passed, the City University Islamic Society has been the forerunner in fundraising for charity organisations, raising thousands of pounds and aiding those in need.
Carrying on with this grande tradition (for the sake of Allaah), this year the City University Islamic Society (ISoc) will raise the green banner of Islaam… being at the forefront of struggling to maintain a cleaner and ’greener’ environment.
Inshaa’Allaah the projects will include:
1) City ISoc Recycling Bank
2) Relevant Khutbas (sermons)
3) Environmental leaflet distributions

HUUUUUUUGE TIP
Please don’t confuse the Islamic Society (ISoc) with the Ahlul Bayt Society.
Last year there was a real mix up… people mistakenly joined the Ahlul Bayt Society, falsely thinking that it was the Islamic. Some realised what had happened and reverted to the ISoc… others are still lost without a clue!
Let’s avoid those mishaps this year inshaa’Allaah. Don’t be shy to enquire into the nature of a particular society before joining it.
There is only one Islamic Society… one Muslim brotherhood. Our love and respect is for all those who accompanied the messenger of Allaah (saaws) in hardship and in ease; for all of his wives - the mothers of the believers; for his family; for those who risked their lives just so that Islaam would spread to the corners of the Earth; and for those who followed in the footsteps of the righteous predecessors.
How to find the reeeaaal ISoc members?
Look for the ‘blackest’ spot in the room with touches of gleaning, white thobe(s)… avoid too much colour… wait… run away from it.
Bring your friends (city students only) ! ! ! See you there inshaa’Allaah.

maybe its worth changing that ‘com c us’ thingy 2 sumink else. ‘c u der wud wrk betr maybe. dat ‘com’ is a bit strange..unless ur northern. c u der is more inviting, but more tellin u n less askin u. maybe more effective. maybe not.

This is the best post on the weby. I love it! MaashaAllaah. Informative and so so so funny. I couldnt stop myself when reading the Ahlul Bayt thing. You guys are gems of this ISoc maashaAllaah. Keep up the good work and may Allaah envelope you all in His mercy, Aameen.
