Fast O’ Muslim FAAAST!

Innal hamdulillaah wa’s-salaatu wa’s-salaamu ‘alaa rasoolillaah, wa ba’ad

oookaaaaaaaay… the title is a spoof of the Learn O’ Muslim Learn thread… (did you see that… advertisement… i bet you clicked the link right? if you didn’t, please do)

The month of Dhu’l-Hijjah begins on Wednesday the 18th of November 2009 inshaaAllaah; the first 10 days of which are the most virtuous days of the year!

If you are thinking, how can that be… the last 10 days of Ramdhaan are the most virtuous!? … naaaaaah… close enough… (not really)… virtuous are the last 10 nights of Ramadhaan and they are topped off with the ultra-virtuous Laylat al-Qadr…

To proceed… you can do a lot of things during these 10 days, as the deeds of the believer that are taken up to Allaah during those days are more beloved to Him - azza wa jall - than Jihaad in His Path (except in the case of a man who marches forth in Jihaad with his wealth and returns with nothing)… imagine that… everything you own, you take with yourself to the battlefield and then afterwards return home, with nothing, empty handed… subhanAllaah!

It was narrated from Ibn ‘Abbaas (may Allaahbe pleased with him) that the Prophet (peace and blessings of Allaah be upon him) said: “There are no days on which righteous deeds are more beloved to Allaah than these ten days.” They said: “Not even jihad for the sake of Allaah?” He said: “Not even jihad for the sake of Allaah, unless a man goes out himself for jihad taking his wealthwithhim and does not come back with anything.”
[al-Bukhaari]

What can you do in those 10 days ‘ey? Fast, do more righteous deeds, smile, feed the poor, feed the fasting people, visit the sick, increase in supererogatory prayers, invite people to Islaam… errm… I know… join us in collecting money for UWT at the Tube stations (FOUR STATIONS - Euston Square, London Bridge, Seven Sisters and Walthamstow Central) on wednesday the 18th anytime between 7am-9pm. Sik way to start off the 10 days right?

London Bridge station will be our base-camp, so if you can’t find anyone but you want to volunteer for the sake of Allaah, head off to London Bridge station and talk to a brother there for buckets, IDs and hi-viz jackets! [BROTHERS ONLY]

SubhanAllaah, almost forgot, you can also revive the Sunnah of the messenger of Allaah (bpuh) in these 10 days by reciting tahmeed, tahleel and takbeer ! This is how you say it…

Allaahu akbar, Allaahu akbar, laa ilaaha ill-Allaah, Allaahu akbar, wa lillaah il-hamd

[Allaah is the Most Great, Allaah is the Most Great, there is no god but Allaah, Allaah is the Most Great and to Allaah be praise]

You gotta recite this out loud everywhere (exceptions include toilets etc. audhubillaah)

If you want to follow Islaam… then follow the way of the messenger of Allaah (pbuh) and do what he taught us to practice, instead of doing your own ting… k?

Also there’s gonna be a mass ceremonial sacrifice in Northampton Square on ‘Eeid day… so bring in your cattle after the Salaat and we will take it from there! Although it is likely that we will get arrested, persecuted and then crucified by PETA and we don’t really have the permit, so scrap that idea…. one day inshaaAllaah… one day.

Anywhoo… just remember to make these 10 days something worthwhile and do NOT neglect them…

I don’t know why I wrote all that when I coudda just given you this link instead… silly me.

o well … no harm no foul…

Make sure to donate as much as you can during these 10 days… rinse it… all your grant money in the charity box (mention medical aid project)… i would do it as well, but i spent all of it already :( …

“And those who dispense their charity with their hearts full of fear, because they will return to their Lord; It is these who race for the good deeds, and they are foremost in them”
    [Surah Mu’minoon 23:60-61]
“And those foremost will be foremost (in Paradise).” [Surah Al Waaqi'ah 56:10]

May Allaah Make us amongst those who are foremost in good deeds in the Dunya and those who are foremost in the Akhira in Jannatul Firdous, Aameen.

    1. (3rd Paragraph after hadith) bpuh = pbuh (be peace upon him…Bro what you on? New internetee madhab?)

    2. As well as that many many spelling mistakes noticed, please make use of a dictionary, which can be borrowed from the Prayer room or College library (Insha’Allah)

    3. (Maybe an addition to the post, which is definitely Masha’Allah already good as it is) If some like to keep fat and chubby then maybe some can be motivated to fast the major one day as some Brothers have already mentioned after Salah etc:

Abu Qatadah reported that the Messenger of Allah (PBUH) said, “Fasting on the day of ‘Arafah is an expiation for two years, the year preceding it and the year following it. Fasting the day of ‘Ashurah is an expiation for the year preceding it.” [This is related by "the group," except for al-Bukhari and at-Tirmidhi]

    Wallahu Ta’ala ‘Alam

you click on the lock after you click on the pencil… is that what you asked for?

  5. @ Abu Khadijah

    1) bpuh is more accurate than pbuh… you are wrong and I am right… keep that instilled in your mind and you can never go wrong.

    2) Again, refer to the last part of point 1.

    3) there’s no need to put it in, you already stated it.

wanna poke ma eye out agen?

[and about your hidden query, your link is messed up and won't change, can't do anything about it... consider deleting account and re-registering]
