In the Name of Allaah, the most Merciful, the One Who bestows Mercy
[Refer to: Religious and Health Benefits of Circumcision]
All praise is due to Allaah, the Lord of the ‘Aalameen (all that exists). May the peace and blessings of Allaah be upon the last of the messengers Muhammad - His devout slave, and upon his family and his companions.
Firstly, thank you for your comment and the interest that you have shown in Islaamic affairs. I sincerely ask that Allaah guide your heart to what is the Truth and make for you an easy path to Paradise.
As for your saying, “No national medical organization recommends circumcision”, the fact is that the World Health Organization, an international authority in medicine and public health, recommends circumcision after having carrying out thorough research. This medical organization is only one of many notable bodies that rightfully recommend circumcision.
Having said that, these recommendations mean nothing, as the Command of Allaah is sufficient for the believers. A recommendation by ‘WHO’ does not motivate them and a disapproval by CPS does not discourage them from carrying out His Command. Allaah says (interpretation of the meaning):
“The only saying of the faithful believers, when they are called to Allaah (His Words, the Qur’aan) and His Messenger (peace and blessings of Allaah be upon him), to judge between them, is that they say: ‘We hear and we obey.’ And such are the successful (who will live forever in Paradise)”
[an-Noor (024:051)]
As for your statement, “The Qur’an doesn’t mention circumcision”, you should know that our religion is built upon the Book of Allaah (al-Qur’aan) and the Sunnah of His messenger (peace and blessings of Allaah be upon him) (i.e. his statements, actions and approvals). What we get from these, we take. This is our religion and has been the religion of our forefathers and will remain as such till the Final Day.
Allaah commands us in the Qur’aan (interpretation of the meaning):
“… And whatsoever the Messenger (Muhammad (saaws)) gives you, take it, and whatsoever he forbids you, abstain (from it), and fear Allaah. Verily, Allaah is Severe in punishment.”
[al-Hashr (059:007)]
Whatsoever the messenger of Allaah (saaws) commands us, he does not command out of his own whims or desires, rather this is what Allaah prescribed upon mankind and it becomes an obligation to be fulfilled.
“Nor does he speak of (his own) desire.”
[an-Najm (053:003)]
Not only did Allaah state this in the Qur’aan, rather His slave, His messenger ‘Eesaa ibn Maryam (peace and blessings of Allaah be upon him) (whom you know to be ‘Jesus’) said (with the permission of Allaah) regarding the final messenger of Allaah (saaws):
“But when He, the Spirit of truth, comes, He will guide you into all the truth; for He will not speak on His own initiative, but whatever He hears, He will speak; and He will disclose to you what is to come.”
[John (016:013)]
And from the authentic narrations related from this very messenger of Allaah (saaws), we learn of the necessity of circumcision:
“Five things are part of the fitrah: circumcision, removing the pubic hair, trimming the moustache, cutting the nails, and plucking the armpit hair”
[al-Bukhaari]
Thus a Muslim is the one who trims his moustache, the one who cuts his nails, the one who removes his pubic hair, the one who removes his armpit hair and the one who is circumcised. A Muslim is the one who hears with his ears and acts with his limbs.
Finally, from what you pasted into your comment about the Sayings of Allaah, the most High, you attempted to show (without any success) that the Command of Allaah is contradicting (i.e. “Why would Allaah create something in the best form and then order for a part of its goodness be removed?”) or that the creation is not actually in the best mould because one is having to make it better by removing a portion of it.
Allaah, being the Sole Creator of the Heavens and the Earth and all in between and all that is in existence – known and unknown, seen and unseen – knows what is best for His creation. He moulded man into the best shape. The body that Allaah granted us through His Mercy - for which we can never show enough gratitude – is fit and designed for the purpose we were created. The design of our fingers, our legs, our eyes, the function of our ears (not forgetting the intricate system inside of us) were all designed and moulded as a part of our being without deforming our looks in any way. Allaah did not leave us with any deformation with regards to any of this.
Cutting off the foreskin does not get rid off any of the distinctive features (the features metnioned in the previous paragraph and their likes) of man; neither does cutting off the nails, or removing the unwanted hairs. Allaah only commands that which is purely beneficial or predoiminately beneficial and forbids that which is pure bad/evil or predominately bad/evil.
Having said the aforementioned, I urge you to reconsider your first statement that “There are lots of errors in the comments about supposed health benefits of circumcision” and recognize that error only emanated from your own comment.
Most importantly, I urge you to embrace Islaam as your religion and your way of life; for doing so will grant you the Pleasure of Allaah, and spare you from the eternal torment in His Hellfire - where man is made to eat thorny fruits, drink blood & pus and suffer boiling water being poured over his head. Compare this to the life in the Eternal Garden beneath which rivers flow, where one drinks wine that does not intoxicate, with a heart that does not corrupt or become ill. I pray for you the best in this World and the best in the Hereafter. Aameen.
All that is good is from Allaah; all other is from myself and the accursed Shaytaan.
And Allaah knows best.

Subhan’Allah…All praise is due to Allah for creating such a perfect religion for mankind…May Allah guide us all on the right path, Ameen. Mash’Allah a very good reply to Mark’s original comment, insh’Allah this will make him see Islamic Virtues, etiquettes and mannerism as ones which are perfect and has been given to us due to the mercy of Allah. Sometimes we as Muslims neglect the fact as to how lucky we are to be part of this deen.
