Where and When?

What’s It All About?
Reviewing the attacks that took place during the week beginning 2nd of November 2009 (coinciding with Charity Week ‘09), discussing the measures the University is taking to ensure the safety of all of its students and advising students on how to keep themselves from harm’s way. The panel will then go on to discuss the importance of being patient and the benefits in affirming that attacks were decreed by Allaah. Furthermore, the panel will then explain the issues touched upon by a student paper regarding an event hosted by the City University Islamic Society, explaining matters of Muslim Creed and principles that a Muslim adheres to.
Who’s Invited?
All students and staff of City University. Externals/members of public are excluded from this event due to University policy and security concerns. Segregated facilities will be provided for all men and women.
Can I Volunteer or Help Out?
Of course you can! We need volunteers for before, during and after the event.
Before the event we need 6-7 volunteers to:

Collect equipment (x1)
-
Set up equipment
-
Collect the guest speakers (x3) and stay with them
-
Buy food for the guest speakers (x1)

Tidy up the venue (brother and sister) (x1)
During the event we need volunteers to:
-
Take care of the guest speakers (i.e. bring them coffee/tea/drinks)
After the event we need 5-6 volunteers to:
-
Gift-bag distributor (brother and sister) (x1)

Guide the guest speakers to their station/car (x3)
-
Tidy up the venue (brother and sister) (x1)
Final Comments…
For those who have been affected by the attacks, they are encouraged to invite their lecturers and tutors to the event, due to the inconveniences caused as a result of missing lectures, extenuating circumstances etc. and the lecturers have a right to know what went on.
As for the sisters who have been patiently following the request of the headbrother, you too may attend the event inshaaAllaah. Please ensure that there is a safe mode of transport available for you to get home and if you require cabs/taxis, as always the ISoc will fully compensate inshaaAllaah.
