Assalaamu Alaikum warahmatullaahi wabarakatuh
Indeed, there is no Creator, nor Lord but Him, the One worthy of worship and He who has no partner in His Dominion, nor is there any God along with Him. So, He has decreed that we worship none but Him. That is because Allaah is the Truth, and what polytheists invoke besides Him, is falsehood. Verily, Allaah is the Most High, the Most Great. I witness that there is no God but Allaah, alone with no partner, and that our leader, Muhammad, is Allaah’s servant, messenger selected one of all the creation, and intimate friend. Actually, he fulfilled his mission, conveyed the Message, guided the nation and hence he brought what took our grief away. He strived in the cause of Allaah until he died. He lived all his life in hardship and sufferings while seeking nothing but to guide people to Allaah’s way. He taught the ignorant, rectified the corrupt, gave security to the frightened, and spread the lights of right, good faith and mercy the same as the sun would spread its light. O Allaah, reward him with the best reward ever given to a prophet for his sincerity to his nation, and a messenger for his call and message. May the peace and blessings be upon Muhammad, his companions, followers and all those who follow his guidance and act according to his Sunnah till the Day of Judgement. May Allaah greet you, Dear viewers! May Allaah reward your efforts by letting you enter the Paradise! I ask Allaah, the Almighty, Who caused us to gather in such a good and blessed hour showing obedience to Him, to gather us in the Hereafter with leaser of Prophets in Paradise. Truly, He is the One to be asked for this and able to fulfil it.
Dear viewers! “Events of the End” is a series that combines together scientific documentation, academic approach and call to Allaah method. I introduce it to the Muslims everywhere in a time where materialism and desires have dominated; in a time when many people have disregarded the next life; and in a time when many people have deviated from the way of the One Who created the Heavens and earth. I present it for myself and for all my Muslim brethren and sisters everywhere to reform and reshape the reality. Sins accumulate, hearts become hardened, and the people become less fearful of Allaah. By Allaah, this worldly life has not changed into such a dark picture, and land has not been filled with blood except because many of those living on it deal with each other from the perspective that life ends with death. Those people have pretended to forget that they shall stand before the Lord of the Earth and Heaven to be questioned about everything. Allaah says: “And We shall set up balances of justice on the Day of Resurrection, then none will be dealt with unjustly in the least. And if there be the weight of a mustard seed, We will bring it. And Sufficient are We as Reckoners.” “Events of the End” starts with death and ends with paradise, Allaah so willing. I ask Allaah to let you and me into it! On the last episode we stopped at the terrifying scene where humans weakness, no matter how strong he is or what position he has, appears; that is when he is on his deathbed. You see man is in a state of extreme weakness. He lost everything. Let us take Haroun Ar Rashid as an example. Do you know Haroun Ar Rashid? He would talk to a cloud and say, “O cloud, go wherever you like and rain, the land tax of any plant you cause to grow will be borne to me if Allah so wills.” Do you know the meaning of these words? He wanted to show the world how expanded and vast his kingdom; he would say to the cloud: “O cloud, go wherever you like and rain, the land tax of any plant you cause to grow will be borne to me if Allah so wills.” Look at the vastness of Haroun’s Kingdom. When he was on his death bed and his hour was so close, he cried and said,” My wealth has not availed me, my power as gone from me!” Where is the wealth? Where is the power? Where is the kingdom? Everything was lost! Haroun insisted to be borne to see his grave after that power and wealth. He wanted to see the hole where he would be buried and left alone until Allaah would will. He wanted to see his grave. His men took him to see his grave, when he looked at it, he cried, then he lifted his eyes to the sky and said, “O Allaah, Whose Kingdom does not go, forgive the one whose kingdom has gone!” O Allaah, where are the kings, sultans, rich, poor, messengers, prophets, wrongdoers, tyrants and lords? Where are those doing injustice and those following their footsteps? Where is Pharaoh and Haman? Where are those who ruled in this life; and used to wrong and oppress other? Does death skip those of honour; or does those of power survive by their power? Nay, by the One who created the universe from nothing; all will die, humans and jinn. O man, how many sins are you committing; you are more interested in this life and forget the next! So you forget death; grave; earth and the day when your hair gets grey out of terror? If one does not protect himself with piety; he will be naked even if he appears covered. If life is everlasting; Prophet Muhammad (peace and blessings of Allaah be upon him) would be alive. Rather, life ends, so does its pleasures and just sins will remain to be judged before Allaah. O my soul, death is near; and your hour is approaching. So, get ready and don’t be deceived. Indeed, you will be put in a place- the grave- where you forget your friends and where you will be covered with earth. Allaah said to His Prophet Muhammad (peace and blessings of Allaah be upon him), “And We granted not to any human being immorality before you (O Muhammad), then if you die, would they live forever? Everyone is going to taste death, and We shall test you, people, with evil and good, and to Us you will be returned.” Allaah also says, “Verily, the death from which you flee will surely meet you.” In addition, Allaah says, “When the hour comes, neither can they delay it nor can they advance it a moment.” We are seeking the pleasure of this life; while we are sure that to be safe in this life, then we should not be stuck to its pleasures. No other house for a human to live in after death than that he worked for before death. If he is righteous in this life, his house in the next will be good. And if he is evil in this life, his house in the next will be accordingly. We accumulate wealth for those will inherit us. And we build palaces though they will be ruins in the long term. How many cities that were well established, and now they have become ruins and death took their inhabitants. Where are kings? They taste death. Virtue lies in good morality. Religion is its first pillar, knowledge is its second pillar, reason is its third, patience is its fourth and generosity is its fifth. Don’t be deceived by this life; no doubt it ends with death and so do we. And work for a future dwelling where angels will be servants and your neighbour will be Muhammad (peace and blessings of Allaah be upon him); a house that Allaah is the one who built. There, palaces are gold, they are built with musk. There, saffron is planted. There, you find rivers of milk and honey and wine flows in streams. There, birds are moving between bushes and praising Allaah in songs. Who wants to buy a house in paradise? Let him build such a house by performing prayer at night. Who wants to buy a house in paradise? Let him build such a house by performing prayer at night. Allaah says, “Nay, the soul reaches to the throat. And it will be said, ‘Who…” Look at the person when he is on his deathbed. Allaah says, “Nay, the soul reaches to the throat. And it will be said, ’Who can cure him and save him from death?’” the soul has reached the throat and it will be said, “Who can cure him and save him from death?” Ibn Abbas (May Allaah be pleased with him) said, “Who can cure him when the soul departs the body?” Who will carry this soul: the Angels of Mercy or the angel of Torture? Mujahid and Al- Dahak said, “It means who can provide a treatment for the person of deathbed?” In their interpretation of Allaah’s Words, “Nay, the soul reaches to the throat. And it will be said, ‘Who can cure him and save him from death?’” Several doctors, from many specialities, may be around a patient but who can cure him? All those doctors will be unable to treat a person on his deathbed. Look at a person on his deathbed! You shall see the paleness on his face, coldness in his limbs, wrinkling on his skin. He is feeling severe coldness moving to his body. These are the agonies of death! In these moments, the dying person tries to move his lips to say, “Laa ilaah illa Allaah (There’s is no God but Allaah)”. He would feel that his tongue and lips become like a mountain that wouldn’t move an inch except for those whom Allaah would make it easy for them to utter “Laa ilaah illa Allaah”. Imagine him in these moments while the people are around him saying that so and so can’t move his tongue. He wouldn’t know his brothers. He couldn’t answer or address his neighbours. I imagine the dying person hearing the people around him but he can’t answer them. I imagine he would look at them while suffering the agonies of death and answer them saying, “O my people, beloved and children! You would leave me alone in my grave. I’m your father. I’m your beloved one. I’m the one who built luxurious houses. I’m the one who developed the trade. I’m the one who collected all the wealth. Which of you may increase my life for a year or two, a month or two, a day or two, an hour of two?” hereupon, Allaah says, “Then why do you not intervene when the soul of a dying person reaches the throat? And you at the moment are looking on, but We are nearer to him than you, but you see not. Then, why do you not, if you are exempt punishment, bring back the soul to its body, if you are truthful? Then, if the dying person be of those brought near to Allaah, there is for him rest and provision, and paradise. And if he the dying person be of those on the Right Hand, then there is safety and peace from the punishment of Allaah for you as you are from those on the Right Hand. But, if the dying person be of those denying the Resurrection and deviating away from the Right Path to Allaah, then for him is a place with boiling water. And he will be burning in the hellfire. Verily, this is an absolute Truth with certainty. So Glorify with praises the Name of your Lord, the Most Great.” The words of glorification are due to You only! Glory be to You Who humiliated with death tyrants and kings. Glory be to You Who have moved man from palaces to graves, from the light of this world to the darkness of graves, from the company of beautiful ladies and children to company of worms in the grave, from the enjoyment of all kinds of food and drink to suffering the unpleasantness of mud and dust. Glory be to Allaah, the Greatest! All says, “Allaah will keep firm those who believe, with the word that stands firm in this world, which means they will keep on worshipping Allaah Alone and none else, and in the hereafter. And Allaah will cause to go astray those who are wrongdoers, and Allaah does what He wills.” Allaah says, “Verily, those who say, ‘Our Lord is Allaah,’ and then they follow Allaah’s way, on them the angels descend at the time of death.” When do the angels descend on the believers? The scholars hold two opinions in this regard.
Our scholars say that the Angels descend on the believers when they are on their deathbeds suffering deaths agonies. The Angels would descend on them to make them firm in belief. O Allaah, grant us a good end! The Angels would stand at the head of the believers to make his/her heart firm. Allaah says, “Allaah will keep firm those who believe, with the word that stands firm in this world; which means they will keep on worshipping Allaah Alone and none else, and in the hereafter. And Allaah will cause to go astray those who are wrongdoers.” The wrongdoers will not be able to say the firm words of faith; namely; “There is no deity but Allaah and Muhammad is the messenger.” Allaah does whatever He wishes. You may see a person on his deathbed smiling and looking as if he was talking to persons unseen by others around him. All those present in the room with him can see none. This is because he is actually moving to the other world. This dying person starts to see the Angels of Allaah. You may hear him uttering the words of faith while smiling. He says, “There is no deity but Allaah and Muhammed is the Messenger of Allaah.” He does not find any difficulty in doing so. Be aware that this is not the tongue that used to lie and practice hypocrisy and ostentation. This time has gone. Only those who believed the Lord of the Earth and Heaven and believed them in return will be able to speak. Only those who have lived all their lives believing in Allaah Alone and the Prophet hood of His Messenger Muhammad (peace and blessings of Allaah be upon him). Allaah has willed that whoever lives while adhering to a certain thing will die adhering to it. You should live while obeying Allaah and die while obeying Him. Those who spend their disobeying Allaah will die while disobeying Him unless Allaah may forgive them when they return to Him in repentance. O Allaah, let us repent to You and accept our repentance. O Allaah, make this hour a time for answering our invocations! Whoever lives while adhering to a certain thing will die while adhering to it. My Muslim Brothers living in the United States, when I was there visiting them, told me a story about an American. That American once entered a Mosque, in the town of Brooklyn in New York, on the time when the Muslims were performing the Fajr (Dawn) Prayer. He enetered the Mosques and after the Muslims finished their prayers, he told them that he wanted to be one of the followers of Prophet Muhammad (peace and blessings of Allaah be upon him). He told them that he wanted to embrace Islaam. They asked him about his story and why he came to the mosque. The American told him that they should only guide him and refrain from asking questions. He asked them what to do. They told him to perform a ritual bathing, so he did. Then they told him to profess the two declarations of Faith, so he said, “There’s no deity but Allaah and Muhammad is the messenger of Allaah.” They taught him how to pray, so he preformed the fajr prayer. He asked them to stay in the Islaamic centre for some days, to know about Islaam, and they allowed him to stay with them. The first day passed, and the second and third day as well. The man attracted the attention of his Muslim brothers by his long prostration to Allaah, his crying to Him, and his interest in listening to the Qur’aan. After the Muslims finished the Maghrib (sunset) Prayer, the American came to one of them to recite the Qur’aan to him. The other Muslim said to the American, “I have begun to look down at myself when I compare myself to you. I’ve entered this religion for several decades, while you haven’t entered it except since two days. I see you crying and showing much fear of Allaah. You want to hear the Qur’aan. O dear brother, I would like you to tell me your story.” The American told him that since four years, he would spend every night crying to Allaah to guide him to the true Religion. A American man from a Spanish origin, who was a Christian, would cry to Allaah to guide him to the true Religion! The American man continued, “On the night before I came to the Mosque, I slept while I was crying to Allaah to guide me to the true religion. When I slept, I saw Jesus, the son of Mary, in a dream where he pointed out at me with his forefinger telling me to be one of the followers of Muhammad (peace and blessings of Allaah be upon him).” Jesus and Muhammad are two prophets whose religion is one; Islaam. They have brought to mankind mercy, truth and guidance. Jesus will descend to the earth as I shall illustrate in detail, if Allaah so wills, during this show. Jesus will descend to judge by the law of Muhammad (peace and blessings of Allaah be upon him). Jesus told the American man to follow the religion of Muhammad (peace and blessings of Allaah be upon him). The American went to say, “So I entered this Mosque because it is the first mosque I passed by.” Hereupon, as told by Muslim brothers out there, the Night (Isha) prayer was announced, this American guy joined his Muslim brothers in performing the prayer. In the first rak’ah, the man made the first prostration, and didn’t raise his head after it. The other Muslims finished their prayer while the man was still prostrating. They called him, but he didn’t answer. One of the Muslims who was praying next to him moved him so he fell on the ground. He was found dead. O Allaah, grant us a good end of our life! He died standing before Allaah. What an end! He died while prostrating before Allaah. He will be resurrected in the same state he died with on the Day of Judgement. He will be resurrected from his grave while prostrating to Allaah, and will be brought before Allaah while prostrating, as said by the truthful Prophet (peace and blessings of Allaah be upon him) who does not speak of his desire. This Hadith is related by Muslim, and I shall return to it in detail later on. The prophet (peace and blessings of Allaah be upon him) said, “Everyone will be resurrected according to his last work before death, be righteous or evil. So, whoever dies while obey Allaah will be resurrected while obeying Him.” Whoever dies while wearing the clothes of Hajj during hajj or ‘Umrah will be resurrected while wearing the same clothes. This will be his case on the Day of Gathering not only on the day of Arafah, or in Mina or in the Grand Mosque in Mecca and calling “O Allaah, here I’m at Your call!” On the Day of Gathering, everyone will be resurrected on the same state he dies with. This blessed American will be resurrected while prostrating. What an honour! Mediate this ending! Another example of the good end of life is that of an honourable man who used to call for the prayers in the morning. He was a very wealthy man. I’m not talking about a man from the generation from the Prophet’s (peace and blessings of Allaah be upon him) companions or the generation that followed them. I am talking about a man who would call for the prayer, seeking only Allaah’s reward for this. He doesn’t want any reward because he was rich and in no need of money. Before the death of the man, he suffered a severe illness that caused him to stay in bed. He would cry because he was deprived of calling for prayer in the last days of his life. On the day in which he died, he cried to Allaah, the Almighty, asking Him about the sin he committed, so that he would ask him for forgiveness. He would ask Allaah about the sin because of which he was deprived of calling for prayer in his last days. He would invoke to Allaah not to deprive him of calling for prayer because of his sins. His heart was attached to the adhaan (calling for prayer) and he kept observing it during all his life. He asked Allaah not to deprive him of the adhaan in the last moments of his life. It was time for Al-Asr (afternoon) prayer shortly before the man’s invocation to Allaah. The man heard the adhaan pronounced from the near mosques, so he cried in his bed because he was not able to stand, move or get out of his house. Suddenly, the man stood up on the bed he used to lie on and direct his face towards the prayer direction and called for the prayer from his house. He pronounced the adhaan till the end. When the man reached the statement, “There’s, no God but Allaah”, he fell on his bed. When his family hurried to check on him, they found him dead. His last words were, “There’s, no God but Allaah.” What an end! The Prophet (peace and blessings of Allaah be upon him) said, “Deeds are judged by their conclusions.” O Allaah, cover our sins. By Allaah, these are not just loud, empty words. One day, a Muslim Sister phoned. This women works as a dead washer. She washes the dead. She phoned my seeking my advice on a certain issue she found problematic during the washing of a dead body of a woman from a village. She said to me, “O Sheikh, I’m witnessing a strange situation. I’m now washing a women whose right hand is lying over her left hand both hands are placed over her chest and we can’t separate them. We tried but we couldn’t separate them. We tried but we couldn’t separate them.” I said, “Glory be to Allaah! O Sister, ask her family about the state she died with.” The sister told me that the women died while she was performing praying and her right hand was on her left one on her chest, reading what she memorised of the Qur’aan.” I said, “Leave her on the state, and cut the shroud properly leaving her hands the way they are because she will be resurrected with the same state; as stated by the truthful Prophet (peace and blessings of Allaah be upon him) who didn’t speak of his own.” This sister can’t separate the two hands of the dead women. After almost two hours, she phoned me again telling me that the shroud, in which that virtuous women is to be shrouded, it too long; it’s more than one meter and a half meter excess than the normal shroud. It is known that any shroud has only one size. She told me that the shroud is one meter and a half meter excess. She asked me what to do. I told her to ask anyone from her family about this. I asked her to make me talk to anyone of the members of her family to tell me about this. One of the sisters of the deceased women talked to me and said, “My sister used to have a strange invocation.” That women is a simple women, like my mother and yours, the deceased sister said to me, “My sister used to have a strange invocation. She used to call Allaah almost in every prayer.” I asked her, “What was her invocation?” the deceased sister said, “she would say: O Allaah, veil me and make my shroud long.” Can the length of the shroud be to that degree?! Have you ever thought about the shroud? Have you ever thought about this issue; the issue of the shroud and grave. Look into the purity of that women’s nature.
“Deeds are judged by their conclusions.”I’ve mentioned the good examples, but I want you now to look into the other bad examples.
I seek refuge in Allaah from experiencing them. One day, a student from Al-Mansoura city came to me while he was crying and asking me by Allaah to call Allaah for his father on the weekly Thursday address so that there may be a righteous man whose invocation may be accepted by Allaah. I’ve seen great excitement in the eyes of that boy. I asked him, “What’s wrong with you?” he replied, “O Sheikh, my father died.” I replied, “May Allaah have mercy on him.” The student said, “But he died a very awful death.” I said to him, “Tell me for I may relate his story to the people that they may draw lessons from.” The student told me that his father was a strong and healthy man and that he never went through any illness or pain. His father had a good health. The student added, “One day, my father felt a pain in his stomach after having his lunch and he wanted to vomit. He entered the bathroom and stood by the sink and kept crying loudly out of pain. We would hear his loud cries. Because he stood for a long time there, he knelt down on his knees because of the severe pain he was suffering. He brought his mouth near the toilet; he couldn’t stand by the sink and knelt down to the toilet. Then he heard a very loud cry, so we entered the bathroom to find him dead.” He died while his face was in the toilet. I asked the student, “Tell me son, how was the life of your father?” he answered while he was in tears, “My father never preformed a single prayer.” Dear viewer! You are still giving up prayer! You are still occupied with your trade! You are still occupied with your position! You are still saying that you are busy! You’ll be busy forever. You’ll be busy if you let yourself to the continuous maze of work. You’ll not get out of it until when you are in your grave with the Angels of death. Be heedful of prayer! Prayer is a gift from Allaah to the nation carried by the Prophet Muhammad (peace and blessings of Allaah be upon him) from above the seven Heavens to be a link between Allaah and humans. In the last will of Prophet Muhammad (peace and blessings of Allaah be upon him, he advised the Muslims to stick to prayer and take care of those under their care. The student said his father didn’t perform a single prayer in his life. What a person this is! O my dear brothers, it can’t be that a man or women belongs to Islaam while he or she hears the adhaan of Subh, Dhuhr, ‘Asr, Maghrib and Ishaa without being moved by it! One should be moved by prayer to establish to the Creator His Oneness. To prove that he has declared the Oneness of Allaah; that he is a servant of Allaah; and that he is in need for Allaah. This is in order to fill his heart with humility and submissiveness before Allaah. One appears to be busy when performing a prayer. Yet, if one is sitting with a girl, one will spend a lot of time. You may come to prayer in laziness as if you are stricken with affliction. If you perform it, you perform it not properly as you are showing off. And if you are free of showing off, you reflect on your worldly affairs. It is better if you reflect on what is good; but you may reflect on what brings your misery. If you come to pray in congregation, you will make long bowing and prostration. Sometimes, you perform prayer quickly so as not to be late for work. Hereupon, your work seems to be better than communication with me. Yet, if you are sitting with a girl, one will spend a lot of time. O man, a girl is better than Allaah and so you cannot communicate with Him with love and sincerity. O brother, still you are turning your back to prayer. O sister, still you are turning your back to prayer. Let you at the very present moment promise your Lord, Glory be to Him, that you will observe prayers at their due times. O sisters, let you promise your God that you will observe prayers at their due time. Our son, we are talking about what he told me that his father never prayed to Allaah. I said to him, “O brother, you know the danger of neglecting prayer. Yet I want you to ask your mother, by Allaah, what your father used to do. Ask your mother just this question. By Allaah, ask your mother and tell me.” He said to me he will do. This noble son went to ask his mother what his father used to do that led him to such a terrible end of life. The mother wept and said to her son, “O my son, your father used to practise usury. He used to give a one thousand loan in return for one thousand and five hundreds.” I said, yes. This is the very reason. He used to earn wealth unlawfully. He used to earn ill-gotten money. Then, that man is to eat from where, from the toilet! Yes, from the toilet! Yes, the end must be like this. Allaah says, “Those who practise usury will not stand (on the Day of Resurrection) except like the standing of a person beaten by Satan leading him to insanity. That is because they say, ‘trading is only like usury.’” But never, Allaah says, “Whereas Allaah has permitted trading and forbidden usury.” Do not be greedy in this life and do not accumulate money illegally. You do not know to whom you are collecting this money. Indeed, your luck in this life is predetermined and ill thinking avails you nothing. Poor are the greedy, and rich are the contented. One fears that one is poor. Poverty is better than richness rendering us tyrant. The richness is in content… if you are not contented, then all that is on the earth won’t make us satisfied. It is content that you must stick to, to be a king, even if you own nothing but comfort.
…did they leave the world with more than mud and shroud? You will take nothing. Another brother at our time tells me and swears that this upper floor neighbour was addicted to listening to music- Arabic and non Arabic music. He told me that he reminded him to Allaah’s punishment frequently. Yet he did not respond. The man continued, “But what disturbed me was his insistence on raising the volume of his recorder abhorrently in a way that upset other. He claimed that this was freedom. It seems as if freedom has no limits. One day upon my return from work, I heard crying and wailing, of women and boys who told me that my neighbour was on his deathbed. I could hear the loud voice of songs amidst this crying and wailing. I then ascended to him to address the present people saying that your father is dying and you’re still playing such songs at these moments. Pray Qur’aan as the place is now surrounded by the angels of Allaah, Glory be to Him. They said, by Allaah you are right. They asked me to fetch them one of the tapes of the Qur’aan. By Allaah, O Sheikh Muhammad, I rushed and fetched them the tape and played it myself.” The man added, “After some instants the man was in a state of wakefulness. He was still suffering the stupor of death when he heard the Qur’aan. He said, ‘No, No, I do not want to listen to this voice. I do not want to listen to the Qur’aan. Play songs as they please my heart.’ Upon hearing this, I went out weeping. The man uttered no other words.” The deeds are judged by intentions, and they are decided by the last actions. Please pay close attention to the words I say. By Allaah, do not forget them. I ask Allah to remind you and me of them O dear brothers and sisters: “The end id the consequence of the previous deeds.” What is the meaning of these words? “The end id the consequence of the previous deeds?” This means that the one who spends one life in obedience to Allaah, his end of life would be happy, whereas the one who spends one’s life in disobedience, he end will be as miserable. It is the Destiny and Decree of Allaah, Glory be to Him, that one will die while sticking to what he loved for, and consequently one will be resurrected on what one died on. Allaah says, “Verily, those who say, ‘Our Lord is Allaah Alone,’ and they are upright, on them the angels will descend at the time of their death.” You see so and so smiling on their deathbed. Yes, he has received glad tidings. Yes, while on deathbed he received glad tidings of his position in Paradise. He received such glad tidings by the angels who keep him firm telling him not to fear and not to grieve. Angels will as those saying who you are, their reply is, “We have been your friend in the life of this world and are so in the hereafter. Therein you shall have all that your inner selves’ desire, and therein you shall have all for which you ask for. An entertainment from Allaah, the Oft-Forgiving, the Most Merciful.” This is the first saying of our scholars concerning the two times angels will descend on the dying persons. Our scholars say that the angels will descend on the people of faith and righteousness. The second opinion is that the Angels will descend on the people of faith and righteousness when they are to come out of their graves at the Day of Resurrection. At that time, I am speaking about the day of Resurrection- we will see miracles also. One will see on this day, unfamiliar scenes for people during their coming out of their graves. I want you to visualise a man walking on his face. This is impossible. I want you to be absorbed totally in such a scene where you will see people, men and women, walking on their faces. You may wonder, saying that, “O Sheikh, what are you saying? Where from did u bring such words?” Well, there is no word without evidence from the Qur’aan and Sunnah. Never so I mention a word without substantiating it with evidence from Allaah’s Book or an authentic hadith from those of our Allaah’s Messenger (peace and blessings of Allaah be upon him). You may ask, “Did Allaah mention that there will be people who will walk on their faces upon their coming out of graves for resurrection?” Yes! Then where is this verse? Listening to the saying of Allaah, “And We shall gather them together on the Day of Resurrection on their faces, blind, dumb and deaf.” Those people cannot hear, speak nor see whilst on their faces, to where, to the Hellfire. The verse continues, “Their abode will be Hell; whenever it abates, We shall increase for them the fierceness of the fire.” It is mentioned in Al-Bukhaari and Muslim on the authority of Anas ibn Malik (may Allaah be pleased with him) that the Prophet (peace and blessings of Allaah be upon him) said, “Allaah will gather the non believers on their faces on the Day of Resurrection. A man said, ‘O Messenger of Allaah (peace and blessings of Allaah be upon him), how the non believers would be made to assemble on the Day of Resurrection by crawling on their faces?’ The Prophet (peace and blessings of Allaah be upon him) said, ‘Verily, the One Who made him walk on their feet in this world, is able to make to make them walk on their faces on the Day of Resurrection.’” Another narration reads, “Will not the One Who made them walk on their feet in this world, be able to make them walk on their faces on the Day of Resurrection?” Qatada, a sub narrator, said, ‘Yes, by the Power of Our God!’ I as well as every faithful believer, should say, “Yes, by the Power of God, He is able.” There is a narration by At-Tirmidhi with a good chain of transmission stating that the Prophet (peace and blessings of Allaah be upon him) said, “People will be gathered on the Judgement Day as three groups: a group going on bare foot; a group riding and a group prone on their face.” As for those who will ride, they are the righteous. May Allaah make you and me from among them. This is according to the verse stating, “The Day We shall gather the pious unto Allaah, like a delegate.” Those are the riders. The second class will walk and the third will be gathered prone on their faces. One of the companions asked the Prophet (peace and blessings of Allaah be upon him), “How are people gathered on their faces?” the Prophet (peace and blessings of Allaah be upon him) replied, “Is the One Who made them walk n their feet in this life not able to make them walk on their faces in the next?” There will be miracles and terrifying scenes. The Angels will descend on the people of faith and righteousness when they are to come out of their graves. Upon coming out of their grave, the pious faithful men and women will find Angels receiving them. The Angels will prepare them for the vehicles of the hereafter whose beauty and magnificence is known by Allaah Alone Who created them for the pious believer to ride as he is not to walk. It might be that the believer does not have a bicycle to ride in this world, but there he will ride and not walk neither on foot nor on face, Allaah forbid, he will ride. This is according to the verse stating, “The Day We shall gather the pious unto Allaah, like a delegate.” Namely, they will ride. The Angels will receive the faithful, pious believers with such glad tidings, “Fear not, nor grieve! But receive the glad tidings.” Upon coming out of the grave, they will receive the glad tidings, “But have the glad tidings of Paradise which you have been promised! We have been your friends in the life of this world and are so in the Hereafter. Therein you shall have all that your inner-selves desire, and therein you shall have all for which you ask for. An entertainment from Allaah, the Oft-Forgiving, the Most Merciful.” Death means the departure of one’s soul. By saying that so and so has died, the latter is up; everything is over. The winners will be winners and the losers will be losers! So and so who had wide knowledge, great position and authority has died. So and so has died. Now his whole body is being washed for burial. There is no God but Allaah. Now he is deprived of every authority and every clothes. Now so and so is being shrouded. He left this world with nothing but the shroud. So and so is carried on the shoulders. To where, the grave. This is what we will know in the next episode, if Allaah so wills. I ask Allaah, Glory be to Him, to end my life and yours with monotheism and faith. O Allaah, protect us in this life, in the grave and on the day of Resurrection! Truly, you are the One to be asked for this and able to fulfil it.
May Allaah’s peace and blessings be upon Prophet Muhammad, his household and his Companions. Allaah’s peace, mercy and blessings be with you.
