First International Islamic Peace Conference Inauguration Session in Mumbai, India Friday, November, 23 2007 In what may perhaps be the largest gathering of Islamic scholars, researchers and academicians from across the world.
Scholars from Egypt, US, UK, Canada, Saudi Arabia and India assembled at the sprawling Somaiya grounds at Sion, to speak on Terrorism, Secularism, Islam and Women’s rights and will also explain Islam’s message of peace.
The speakers also include Shaikh Mohammed Ayoub, former Imam of the Prophet’s mosque in Medina, Anwar Ibrahim, former deputy prime minister of Malaysia and Egypt’s Husain Hassan, dubbed the father of Islamic banking. Speakers on this Inauguration Session: Dr. Bilal Philips, Yusuf Estes, Abdur Rahim Green, Yassir Fazaga, Hussain Yee, Riaz Ansary, Yasir Qahdi, Ammar Amonette, Dr. Jazar Idris, Salem Al-Amry, Dr. Ahmad Ibn Saifuddin, Assim Al-Hakeem, Dr. Mamdouh Mohamed, Mokhtar Maghraoui, and Dr. Zakir Naik.
