Poem - Taweel as Shawq (Long Longing)

A Longing person remains in alienation
He has no friends in life
Who trust the world of misfortunes
You trample on fellows in the dust
I wonder at the one who wants you while he knows
That you are the strangest of creation
Except for the beautiful meaning that I have
I would not have stayed in it
I found Allah, God of the Universe
All the creatures love him
There are many evidences that he is the One
Despite the false arguments
Contemplate on the Most Merciful abilities
You will be guided to truth
Look everywhere
Your question will be answered
Shift from earth shades
Do not ever be deceived by mirage
Stand on the graves, it’s a memory
That you will thank and then you will forget
Recite tones of Qur’ran
Reward will keep you away from punishment
Follow a guide wise Prophet (peace be upon him)
Rays of wisdom from everywhere

The Superiority of Lailat-ul-Qadr (the Night of Decree)

Allah, the Exalted, says:

Verily, We have sent it (this Qur’an) down in the Night of Al-Qadr (Decree). And what will make you know what the Night of Al-Qadr (Decree) is? The Night of Al-Qadr (Decree) is better than a thousand months (i.e., worshipping Allah in that night is better than worshipping Him a thousand months, i.e., 83 years and 4 months). Therein descend the angels and the Ruh [Jibril (Gabriel)] by Allah’s Permission with all Decrees. (All that night), there is peace (and goodness from Allah to His believing slaves) until the appearance of dawn.” (97:1-5)

We sent it (this Qur’an) down on a blessed night [(i.e., the Night of Al-Qadr, Surah No:97) in the month of Ramadan, the 9th month of the Islamic calendar]. Verily, We are ever warning [mankind that Our Torment will reach those who disbelieve in Our Oneness of Lordship and in Our Oneness of worship]. Therein (that night) is decreed every matter of ordainments (i.e., the matters of deaths, births, provisions, and calamities for the whole (coming) year as decreed by Allah). As a Command (or this Qur’an or the Decree of every matter) from Us. Verily, We are ever sending (the Messengers). (As) a Mercy from your Rubb, Verily! He is the All-Hearer, the All-Knower.” (44:3-6)

Safeguarding As-Saum (The Fast)

1240. Abu Hurairah (May Allah be pleased with him) reported: The Messenger of Allah (PBUH) said, “When any one of you is observing Saum (fasting) on a day, he should neither indulge in obscene language nor should he raise the voice; and if anyone reviles him or tries to quarrel with him he should say: `I am observing fast’.”
[Al-Bukhari and Muslim].

Commentary: This Hadith has already been mentioned and is repeated here for its being relevant to this chapter. We learn from it that during Saum not only food, drink and sex are prohibited but the improper use of the tongue and the other organs of the body as well. When one is observing Saum, he should neither use abusive language nor talk foolishly nor tell lies nor make obscene conversation nor indulge in backbiting nor quarrel with anyone. If someone provokes him, he should keep himself quiet and remember that he is observing Saum and he has to abstain from such things. As far as possible, he should keep his tongue engaged in the remembrance of Allah and recitation of the Qur’an.

The Merit of Providing something to the Person Observing Saum (Fasting) for breaking the Fast

1265. Zaid bin Khalid Al-Juhani (May Allah be pleased with him) reported: The Prophet (PBUH) said, “He who provides a fasting person something with which to break his fast, will earn the same reward as the one who was observing the fast, without diminishing in any way the reward of the latter.”
[At-Tirmidhi].

1266. Umm `Umarah Al-Ansariyah (May Allah be pleased with her) reported: Once the Prophet (PBUH) visited us and I served him some food. He (PBUH) asked me to eat. I replied that I was observing (optional) fast. He (PBUH) said, “When people eat by a person observing fast, the angels keep asking Allah’s forgiveness for that person until they have had their fill.
[At-Tirmidhi].

Commentary: This Hadith tells us the merits of the person who is himself observing Saum but serves meals to others.

Ramadan Poem by a Sister

From the very moment a person is born, Shaytaan begins his enmity, the babys first cry is due to Shaytaan poking him,

and the war between man and the devil begins.

After all,Shaytaan did vow to Allah (swt) that he would take mankind away from the Deen, making them wander off the Siraat-ul-Mustaqeem.

thankfully, it is only once every year that he is locked up, allowing muslims to live peacefully, in Ramadhan the blessed month of mercy.

But was his influence throughout the year too much on our hearts and soul, even with him being locked, up are we still helping him reach his goal?

sometimes we may give in to his whispers, calling us to our own evil desires, but each step we take towards him is a step taken away from The Garden and towards The Fire.

it began with Adam and Eve, to whom he made promises of immortality, through the forbidden tree it is how they ended up on the earth with the seven seas.

To every man he makes promises of happiness and fulfillment, vowing to be their support and to provide contentment,

But when the final day comes, when time is through and we all experience the Judgement,

even he will not be willing to take the blame

”i just enticed them, and they followed, i did nothing with coercion or force’ will be his only claim

he will not protect us nor support us, nor intercede for us, it will be every man for himself, no family, no friends, no riches nor wealth, none of this wil be of any help….

The Superiority of Hastening to Break the Fast, and the supplication to say upon Breaking it

1233. Sahl bin Sa`d (May Allah be pleased with him) reported: The Messenger of Allah (PBUH) said, “People will continue to adhere to good as long as they hasten to break the Saum (fasting).”
[Al-Bukhari and Muslim].

Commentary:Adhere to good” here means welfare of the religion as well as that of this world. Breaking the Saum early does not mean that it is terminated before the prescribed time. What it really means is without any delay after the sunset. One should not delay it for the mere reason that the rigour one has gone through in the Saum should be enhanced further, as is done by some Sufi. There is no merit in such things because the real merit lies in following the Sunnah of the Prophet (PBUH). Welfare of the Muslims will, therefore, come in the share of the Muslims because of their following the Prophet’s Sunnah of breaking the Saum in the early moments of the prescribed time.

How Should Muslims Deal With One Another When They Differ? by Shaykh Ibn Uthaymeen

How Should Muslims Deal With One Another When They Differ?

By Shaykh Ibn ‘Uthaymeen (may Allaah have mercy on him)

Question : When two scholars give differing judgments on a personal issue, how do we decide upon which opinion to choose? Do we look at the specialization of the scholar, his age or just the evidence he brings?

Answer : It is well known and important that we know what is correct through the means of evidence. Yet it is upon him (the person seeking the truth) to follow whom he sees is closest to that which is correct. This is according to the scholar’s knowledge and the level of trust in him. As far as knowledge - there are indeed people who speak without knowledge. He may have some aspect of knowledge while having yet missed many aspects. As far as trust - there are some people who have a lot of knowledge yet he looks to what the people desire therefore he becomes negligent and rules according to what suits the questioner. So if scholars disagree, look to who is closest to what is correct. Just as two doctors may differ in diagnosis or treatment of an illness. You will follow the one whose diagnosis you see is deeper and more thorough.
