By any chance, will yesterday’s event be put up on the site bcos a lot of the sisters had to leave early as it was getting late. I believe we missed some crucial info and would be nice to go through the video to catch up.

  5. i-Slaam Says:

wa ‘alaykis salaam wa rahmatullaahi wa barakaatuh,

the brothers are working on the audio tape right now… will take a few days, but it will be put up inshaa’Allaah.

a page was made for those audios a couple o days ago…

    http://cityisoc.com/i-media/fortnightly-courses/

all audio from these courses will be uploaded there inshaa’Allaah… maybe next freshers’, a collection of these will be included in the packs…

as for the videos, they take the same amount of time to convert as their duration… so we are not sure about that… someone has to literally sit there and watch it convert… we will see inshaa’Allaah… maybe an hour a day…

    wa-jazaakumullaahu khayran

  6. the picture used for the khutbah 06/11/09 was taken on Thursday, when the pests were hurling bricks at the Gloucester Building… seeing the camera, they hid behind the building sides…

  8. Assalaamu alaikum,

Subhanallah, hope the brothers get better soon insha’allah and everone to heed the ameers words. Insha’allah our dua’s are with you and may they all be caught soon insha’allah

  10. Abdul Rafay Says:

    Jizakallah

  11. admin Says:

The transcript can be read by clicking on the following link inshaAllaah:

    http://cityisoc.com/2887-be-patient-o-muslims-for-you-are-being-tested/

  12. This week’s khutbah will not be uploaded as par the khateeb’s request.

  13. -sp- Says:

    Assalaam alaykum wr wb

    1) would it b possible to have the transcript up?

    2) Random question…Is there a particular reason (Islamically) as to why the same two surah’s are recited during Jummah? or just the brothers decision?

    Wa’alaykum assalaam wr wb

  14. admin Says:

    Bismillaahir Rahmaanir Raheem

There are three established sunnahs regarding the recitation of the Imaam during the Jumu’ah prayer. The Imaam can select any of the following:

    1) That he recites Surah al-Jumu’ah (62) in the first raka’ah and Surah al-Munaafiqoon (63) in the second

    2) That he recites Surah al-Jumu’ah (62) in the first raka’ah and Surah al-Ghaashiyyah (68) in the second

    3) That he recites Surah al-A’laa (67) in the first raka’ah and Surah al-Ghaashiyyah (68) in the second

This is what the Messenger of Allaah (peace and blessings of Allaah be upon him) used to do as is reported in Muslim and Abu Daawood.

    And Allaah knows best.

  15. Al-Gujj Says:

And according to Shaykh-al-isoc sheikh Abu, May Allah preserve him Ameen, the opinion is:
Some qurra likes reciting these particular surahs like Saleh because they bring out melodious voices (mashAllah) and the ulama have no problem with it. They can recite any surah they feel comfortable with and that which bring khusho’ in the prayer.

    p,s, i miss saleh’s favourite a’basa

“It’s always sunny when they’re praying, they should pray more” [A comment made by a passer-by at Jumu'ah yesterday]

The week before, I saw a man stand and listen attentively right through to the tasleem, his eyes locked on the khateeb.

It is an amazing sight indeed. May Allaah guide these people. Aameen.
