A Prophet Like Unto Moses

Reading time: 4 - 6 minutes

In the Name of Allaah, the Most Beneficent, the Most Merciful

“And the Lord said onto me, they have well spoken that which they have spoken, I will raise them up a prophet from among their brethren, like unto thee, and will put my words in his mouth; and he shall speak unto them all that I shall command him.”
[Deuteronomy (18:17-18)]

In the following series of videos (lasting around 50 minutes altogether), the speaker discusses the matter of who is the prophet/messenger prophecised in the above verse - Jesus or Muhammad (peace be upon them both).

  1. The prophet is to be sent among the brethren of the children of Israel.
  2. The prophet is similar in characteristics and achievements to Moosa (Moses) (peace be upon him).
  3. The prophet is to speak the Word of God directly as God commands him.

The speaker discusses all three points in detail, as well as listing and describing the similarities between Moses and Muhammad (peace be upon them both) and proving why Jesus (peace be upon him) cannot be the one prophecised in that verse.

This is not to negate the prophet-hood of either of the messengers; rather to find the one that is prophecised in that particular verse. All prophets and messengers were sent by Allaah as a mercy to mankind.

May Allaah guide us all.

I apologize for speaking too soon and too harshly. I did not listen to the recording and I feel like a fool. Please forgive me for my crude remarks, and please do not hesitate to remove my comments. Thank you for your understanding and forgiveness.
