I begin by seeking aid in Allaah, the most Merciful, the One Who bestows Mercy
Verily, all praises are due to Allaah, and may the Salaah and Salaam of Allaah be upon His messenger. To proceed:
Be the Oppressed, Not the Oppressor
[Oppressors Only Benefit the Oppressed]
Ibraheem at-Tamimi once said:
“When a man wrongs me, I pay him back with an act of mercy.”
When some money was stolen from a righteous man who lived in Khurasaan he began to weep. Fu’dayl, who saw him in that state, asked, “Why do you cry?” He answered, “I remembered that Allaah shall gather me and thief together on the Day of Judgment, and I cried, feeling pity for him.”
A man slandered a scholar from the early generations of Islam. In return, the scholar gave him a gift of dates; and when later asked about the gifts, he said,
“Because he did good to me (i.e. on the Day of Judgment the man would have to give him some of his good deeds or take from him some of his bad ones).”

Justice Week ‘10
[ Standing out for Justice ]
“O you who believe! Stand out firmly for justice, as witnesses to Allaah, even though it be against yourselves, or your parents, or your kin, be he rich or poor, Allaah is a Better Protector to both (than you). So follow not the lusts (of your hearts), lest you may avoid justice, and if you distort your witness or refuse to give it, verily, Allaah is Ever Well-Acquainted with what you do.” [Soorat an-Nisaa' (004:135)]
Aims and Objectives
The objective of Justice Week ‘10 is to raise awareness of the oppressions and difficulties faced by Muslims around the World and in the UK.
To fulfill those objectives, we will be hosting events, presenting presentations, fundraising, writing letters to the oppressed, and everyone will have a part to play inshaa’Allaah.
Events and Presentations
During Justice week, we will have a lot of events inshaa’Allaah… starting from Monday and ending on Friday.
Monday - My Journey to Palestine [Uni Students]
Tuesday - The Religion of Justice [Shaqur Rahman]
Wednesday - War Upon Error [+Know Your Rights] [+Presentation] [Asim Qureshi]
Thursday - Voice of Justice [Press Conference]
Friday - I’m in Prison! [Murtaza Khan]
The presentations will involve, introducing a relevant charity organization, and brothers talking about their personal experiences upon travelling to the lands of the oppressed, what they saw there - the good of and the bad of it, how it affected them, and how we can help.
Other Activities
There will be mini-talks from Monday to Thursday inshaa’Allaah, after Dhuhr, to be delivered by the brothers.
Monday - Introducing Justice Week and its Activities
Tuesday - Ibraaheem ‘alayhi’s-salaam
Wednesday - The Companions of the Ditch
Thursday - ‘Umar al-Farooq radiAllaahu ‘anhu
All of these talks will reflect the oppressions the personalities faced, the reasons behind their oppression, and how they overcame the oppressions, except for ‘Umar, whose story is that of an oppressor who ultimately set the milestones in the journey of the oppressed to liberation, may Allaah be pleased with him and may Allaah honour his face!
[Sisters may hold their own circles regarding the same general theme, wAllaahu a'lam]
Stalls
Throughout the entire week, we will have stalls in the usual place, reflecting on the topics of the day inshaa’Allaah, as well as an overall general theme of Justice Week. The theme on Monday will be one about Palestine, introducing the week to come, giving personal invites to people to attend the events, and some fundraising.
Fundraising
We are also aiming to fundraise at the stalls and the events for an organization that helps the families of Muslim prisoners of war, such as Hhugs.
Our aim is to raise £1,000 or more inshaa’Allaah. We have already collected a portion of that on Friday the 12th of March, and hopefully by the end of Justice Week, with your help, we will have collected the rest!
For more information on ‘Helping Households Under Great Stress’ (Hhugs), please visit: www.hhugs.org.uk
“Penpal”
We will also try to get a “letter-writing” scheme going, where brothers and sisters will be writing letters of support to the prisoners held without trial or placed under control orders, and their families. The sisters may write to the families, and the brothers may write to the prisoners themselves. These will then be passed on to certain organizations, such as Hhugs and they will forward it to the respective individuals inshaa’Allaah. wAllaahu a’lam.
If you want to write a letter to the prisoners or their families, then please come see us at the Da’wah stall, which will be held all week, from 12-2pm. We need as many brothers and sisters involved as possible! Imagine if you were locked up, wouldn’t you care for someone to check up on you or your family, see how they are doing, give them some emotional support? What if your spouse, your brother/sister is locked up, wouldn’t it mean a lot to you that some stranger, who you never met before, writes to you, with words of comfort, just because you are their Muslim brother/sister?

Who Fears Allaah?
Sufyan Ath-Thawri, rahimahullaah (may Allaah have mercy on him), narrated from Abu Hayyan At-Taymi from a man who said, “It used to be said that the knowledgeable are of three types: (first) one who knows Allaah and the Command of Allaah, (second) one who knows Allaah but does not know the Command of Allaah, and (third) one who knows the Command of Allaah but does not know Allaah. The one who knows Allaah and the Command of Allaah is the one who fears Allaah and knows the limits (Hudud) and the obligatory duties (Fara’id). The one who knows Allaah but does not know the Command of Allaah is the one who fears Allaah but does not know the limits (Hudud) and the obligatory duties (Fara’id). The one who knows the Command of Allaah but does not know Allaah is the one who knows the limits (Hudud) and the obligatory duties (Fara’id) but does not fear Allaah.” [Tafseer ibn Katheer]
