Ideas for Charity Week ‘09
These are a few ideas to start people off… Let your imaginations go wild - suggest as many things as you can think of, staying within the limits of al-Islaam without delving into that which leads to haraam. If there is anything wrong in the following, do let us know.
For all of these we need participants. Most of these listed sponsorships are related to brothers though… unless you want to shave off your head… Sisters are welcome to suggest ideas for their own activities and we will put it up inshaa’Allaah.
Please please please take part and help raise money for the projects… we would love it even more if you can come up with your own activitiy/sponsorhips…
Info on the Charity projects will be added soon, in the form of presentations and writing inshaa’Allaah.
Start saving the pennies now ! ! !
Saving £5 a week means by Charity Week you will have a tenna to give! A fiva’s too much? No problem… 50p a day or even less… anything please?
Imagine if just those 84 members saved £10 by that week… we have £840!
Please do not let down your own brethren… just asking you to spare a tenna for the sake of Allaah, one-off.
Last year we raised £20,000 - £30,000 … this year we are aiming for FIVE times the amount to get the project completed…

Charity Week ‘09 has been advertised by the City University Press Office, alhamdulillaah:

Money can still be raised outside of Charity Week for the three projects inshaa’Allaah… maybe not in terms of going around campus with buckets, but sponsorships etc.
Bake sale. Bake sweet treats and sell them. Or if its slightly ambitious/time consuming for people to make cakes/pastries etc..Perhaps whip up some cookie mix, make a dozen trays of chocolate chip cookies and sell them for 20p or 50p (considering the S.U sells (not so nice) cookies for £1 each..Its not such a bad idea). Or Charity football match.
